Amberley Beach – Community Planting

9 June at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

An open invitation is extended for the public to participate in a ‘Planting Event’, with the goal of establishing over 600 native trees and shrubs donated by Trees For Canterbury. This key event in the ongoing development of Amberley Beach with the Amberley Beach Coast Care is planned for Sunday June 9th

The Amberley Beach Coast Care is planting a native bush corridor between the sea and the Amberley Beach settlement with walking tracks that will provide a link between Mimi Moto Lagoon to the south and the Amberley Lagoon to the north. As this bush matures the remaining pines can be removed to enable the whole foreshore to be planted with native coastal species.
The event is scheduled between 10.00am and 12.00 noon on Sunday at Amberley Beach. Meet at the end of Grierson Avenue and park either side of the grey concrete water tank. Look for the signs. Bring along family, friends and a spade. BBQ lunch and hot soup available in the community centre after planting.
