Christchurch & Local Body Elections – voting for the Environment

Our monthly 350 meeting this Friday will focus on the candidates for ECan and the City Council who are most likely to reflect our concerns for the environment and the climate in their decisions as councilors.

ECan councilor Lan Pham and Christchurch City councilor Sara Templeton will share their thoughts on strategic voting in the local body elections to get environment and climate focused candidates elected.

We hope to also share the results, if they are in in time, from candidate questionnaires sent to all ECan candidates and City Council candidates by Gen Zero/Extinction Rebellion/350 Christchurch, as well as mentioning Green Party backed candidates.

It is vital that we get environment and climate focused candidates elected now because the next 3 years are make or break in terms of global heating and a lot can be done at the local level.
