Cranford Basin Planting Preparation

20 April at 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Want to help create a living legacy for our city? CVNZ will be planting 37, 000 kahikatea in Cranford Basin this winter, and we need your help! These seedlings will grow up to become the largest stand of kahikatea in Åtautahi Christchurch since pre-European times. Help plant this forest and be part of the larger vision to create our biodiverse-city.

Cranford Basin is a natural ponding and storm water management area, critical to reducing the flood risk to urban Christchurch.

20th April 1-3pm: Come along and help us lay out plants for a planting on Earth Day, 21st April.

Meeting point: 103 Philpotts Rd, Mairehau.

Gumboots or waterproof boots are essential as this is a very wet site.

We provide: tools, gloves and a friendly team leader. Please bring a water bottle and come dressed appropriately for the weather.

We’d love to see you there, so please register here. Contact Donna (dlusby@cvnz.org.nz) 021 457 568 for more information.
