ECONOMICS AND THE ENVIRONMENT: GLOBAL TO LOCAL
8 May at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
A meeting in 3 parts:
- Herman Daly, Tim Jackson, Charles Eisenstein, Kate Raworth, and more. Global thinkers challenging the current paradigms. We will briefly look at some of the ideas around the world.
- How might our government’s new ‘wellbeing’ component in economic reporting connect environmentally? How might tax changes help?
- What about us? The local economic realities of environmental groups working in Canterbury. Can any local initiatives and local joined-up thinking help break the economic barriers to our effectiveness?
There will be a range of speakers each sharing a few minutes of input but the focus of this meeting is to interact and share ideas.
