Everybody Eats in Christchurch
29 August at 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Everybody Eats x Welles Street x Street Wise x Food Resilience Network are teaming up to bring the Everybody Eats concept down to Christchurch from Auckland.
We want to trial what has been very successful so far in Auckland in other places around the country. You asked nicely, so here we are.
How it works:
Everybody Eats is a not-for-profit, pay-as-you-feel dining concept. We take food that would otherwise go to waste, and with the help of volunteers, turn it into restaurant meals that are served to people from all walks of life in a safe, warm, communal environment.
We will be doing 3x 100 person sittings of a 3-course meal prepared by volunteer chefs from the region. We can cater for vegetarians, but not necessarily vegans. We are bound by the food that we are donated, so cannot consistently cater to any other dietary needs. Sorry.
The meal is provided on a pay-as-you-feel (PAYF) basis, which means that people are welcome to contribute to their own and other peoples meals through koha, which will be cash in a donation tin on the night. People are also very welcome to eat for free and we actively encourage vulnerable people to join us.
Bookings will be made through Eventbrite. Sittings will be at 5:30pm, 6:45pm and 8pm.
This event is child friendly and no alcohol or drinks will be available for purchase on the night.
