Forestry and Climate Change
11/03/2020 at 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

How can forests help us mitigate climate change? Why are emissions trading schemes not working, and how can we improve them?
As the severity of droughts, floods and other extreme weather events increases and these events become more and more frequent, it is becoming urgent for us to address the problem of climate change. The role of forests is often mentioned as part of the solution. Euan Mason, Professor in the School of Forestry at the University of Canterbury, will present the topic of ‘Forestry and climate change’ at the March Quaker Forum. Just how can forests help us to mitigate climate change?
The speaker will outline issues, pose questions, then open the floor for questions, comments, and ideas. The Forum ends with tea and informal discussion.
