Fridays in Parks 9:30am-12pm – Travis Wetland

We’ve got some exciting projects coming up on Friday mornings for you to get involved in! Come along and get to know these great spots around the city while improving their biodiversity.

  • 19 June – Halswell Quarry Park, Kennedys Bush Rd, meet in the main carpark: Today we’ll be helping the local ranger with preparation for planting
  • 26 June – Charlesworth Reserve, Charlesworth Street, Ferrymead: Come along and help the Estuary Ihutai Trust with the amazing work they are doing in this area – this will be a combination of releasing plants, pruning and planting
  • 3 July – Travis Wetland, 280 Beach Road, Burwood: Come along for your opportunity to assist the local trust with tasks around the wetland. Gumboots will be available if needed.
  • 10 July – Ōtukaikino – Living Memorial, Main North Road, Belfast: Today we’ll be planting in this beautiful wetland reserve at the entrance to Christchurch.

We provide: tools, gloves, morning tea and a friendly team leader. Please wear sturdy shoes or boots, warm clothing, and bring a water bottle.
