Gordon Campbell – ‘The state of the Party’s six months from Election 2020’
19 March at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The 2020 election campaign will be a test for the minor parties – particularly those in the coalition Government that have been starved of the oxygen of media attention due to “working from inside the tent”.
It will also be pitted as a Presidential slugfest between Jacinda Ardern in the red corner and Simon Bridges in the blue corner.
Jaunting down from the political capital for an evening of questions and more importantly answers will be Wellington-based political columnist Gordon Campbell.
Starting with the Listener magazine as music and social issues journalist Gordon Campbell has written on topics as diverse as heavyweight boxing, cowboy movies and covered the 2004 United States presidential election.
Gordon Campbell was also the Listener’s political editor for a time. He’s met and interviewed the bulk of New Zealand’s political elite over the last 40 years, has done as stint as a press secretary for the Greens and currently edits an online political, music and arts review on scoop.co.nz entitled Werewolf.
Unlike the mythical Wolf of ancient lore Werewolf does come out rather more than once in a lunar month,
Think up some questions you would like asked about the state of the major and minor parties, the influence the media will have, and the policies that will make Election 2020 a humdinger.
Come along to WEA for an enlightening and entertaining and interactive evening.
