Healing Resistance – Intro to Deep Ecology and Regenerative Activism
15 July at 6:30 pm - 8:45 pmFree
This interactive introductory session will explore how practices from Regenerative Activism, Deep Ecology, Nonviolence and the Work that Reconnects can help us to be empowered and healthy as we take action to avert climate and ecological break down.
Rather than focus on changing our individual carbon footprint, we’ll explore the need for systemic change and for growing cultures and communities that can push for systemic change effectively, whilst skillfully practicing collective care for each other and our beautiful living world.
Whilst the climate and ecological work is urgent and practical, we’ll also address the need for deep practices and deep understandings that have informed some of the most effective activism of our times, such as the American Civil Rights Movement.
About the facilitator: Michael Apathy is a registered psychotherapist as well as a grass roots climate justice activist. He has run many regenerative activism retreats and workshops, and has a passion for the lively intersection of activism, psychology, and spirituality.
This workshop is open to everyone, whether you’re experienced in creating social or environmental change, or if this is your first dipping of the toe in this water. If you’re 14 yrs of age or younger, please get in touch to discuss if this will be appropriate for you.
