Mahoe-nui Winter Planting Days -Lower Site
2 July at 9:00 am - 11:30 am

Mahoe-nui is a CCC reserve behind Sumner and planting at Mahoe-nui helps prevent erosion into the Sumnervale stream and provides a corridor of bush for native wildlife. The native forest restoration project is led by Port Hills Rangers Di Carter-and Fiona Fenton .
Helen Hills(Forest and Bird) and Vicky Southworth (Sumner Environment Group) work together as volunteer coordinators. Thank you to all our volunteers who provide the muscle to make the project happen. We look forward to seeing you at Mahoe-nui, enjoying the birdsong and views(not to mention the yummy morning teas!) on our volunteer days.
Please note for all the working bees we will meet at 9am at the corner of Wakefield Ave and Colenso street to register and car pool up to the site..
All volunteers are required to be double vaccinated according to Forest and Birds national covid policy.
If carpooling you will need to wear a mask in the car, but not when planting/releasing plants. Please stay at home if you are unwell.
