Ocean of Opportunity Panel

11 March at 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

On Behalf of the Blue Cradle Foundation, we invite you to join us on Thursday March 11th for a free event at Tūranga, our public library aimed at presenting the opportunity and raising the stakes for Ōtautahi-Christchurch, showcasing the “Ocean of Opportunity” it has. We firmly believe Ōtautahi-Christchurch can play a major role in addressing ocean health impact solutions through innovative partnerships, scientific research and community-led conservation. In this context, the Blue Cradle Foundation will announce the intention to host the 6th International Marine Protected Area Congress (IMPAC6), in 2026, and invite anyone to join an Organizing Committee.

8 distinguished speakers will present their work and aspirations in relation to the ocean, introduced by our mayor, Lianne Dalziel. Each will present a different perspective, coming from academia, policy, Iwi, science, conservation, from the start-up ecosystem and ecotourism. Two panels will be arranged and a discussion of the different opportunities ahead: the opportunity for marine ecosystems and regeneration & innovation and the blue economy. These will be followed by Q&A sessions and a social wine event with an opportunity to network.

Please reserve your tickets soon, places limited.
