Public Discussion – Canterbury Water: Nitrates Risks and the Environment vs Resource Consents
7 April at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

We believe that ECan, if they choose to, is able to change the Regional Plan simply to allow notification of MHV and other irrigation consents. The justification for a plan change is that national laws have changed, times have changed, evidence has changed and we know much more about consequences of these consents than we did when they were first granted. Public notification, to allow public input on the effects of meeting the requirements of the new National Environmental Standard for Freshwater (NES-F), would allow us to have the say that we seek. Until then, these consents should not be granted. Come along and hear speakers from a variety of groups and orgs
