Southshore Reserve – Community Planting

An open invitation is extended for the public to join Trees for Canterbury to participate in a ‘Planting Event’, with the Regional Park Rangers of the Christchurch City Council. This is a continuation of planting to replace the plants that were lost in the fire of 2009. Our goal is to encourage birds back into the area by creating a food source with native plantings.
This event will take place between 10.00am and 12.00noon on Saturday the 10th August at Southshore Reserve and will be followed by a BBQ.
Location: Meet at the end of Rockinghorse Road. Look for signs directing you to planting site which is a short walk into the reserve. Look for the signs. Bring along family, friends and a spade.
