Sustainable Development Goal Hui #2: Be The Change

25/03/2021 at 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Welcome to the #DecadeOfAction! 2020 marks the 5th anniversary of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, the world’s best plan to achieve a better future for all. We can be the first generation to end extreme poverty, the decisive generation in the battle against climate change & the most determined generation to fight injustice & inequality. But there is much work to do, and every year counts.
So, join us and get involved in the second of the 2020-2021 Aotearoa/New Zealand Sustainable Development Goals Summit Series events, and #BeTheChange!
TICKETS NOW AVAILABLE AT bit.ly/hui2bethechange
WHEN: Thursday 25 March, 7:00pm – 9:30pm
WHERE: Online
Online Hui 2 builds on the conversation started in Online Hui 1 – by delving into how we can be the change in order to implement the needed changes that became apparent through the discussions in Hui 1.
In a similar fashion – this event includes inspiring lightning talks, panel discussions and engaging workshops. It will be a chance for participants to learn about and share practical opportunities to take real action towards creating a more sustainable present and future through the SDGs.
It will feature two parallel streams –
Stream A:
Panel 1: Ensure Sustainable Food Production Systems
This Panel will engage the private and public sectors, as well as academics and mana whenua to speak about this highly contested yet very important topic for Aotearoa.
Workshop 1: How to Implement the SDGs in your Region: Learning from Waikato
Stream B:
Panel 2: Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the SDGs
This Panel will explore partnerships, specifically how Goal 17 potentially aligns with and complements Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Workshop 2: Growing Sustainability Culture in your Organisation: Sustainable Business Council
This event will be an excellent opportunity to discuss how the SDGs can come alive within our own communities and how we can be the change that we need to realise a sustainable present and future.
