The Living Wage, Christchurch Communities Working Together
15/08/2019 at 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Karena Brown (E tū Union), Chas Muir (Transitional Cathedral) and Sue Molloy (social worker) will cover the Living Wage Movement in New Zealand nationally, and then focus on progress in Christchurch.
The Living Wage Movement is a tripartite alliance of faith-based groups, community groups and unions. Read more about it at https://www.livingwage.org.
Also: Fabian Society Otautahi members are all invited to attend a Local Body Election Forum at 7.30 pm on Wednesday 4th September at the Transitional Cathedral. All council candidates and mayoral candidates have been asked to attend. They will be asked for their position on supporting and voting in favour of paying all of the directly employed and contracted employees no less than the New Zealand Living Wage and invited to sign a pledge committing their support. If you would like to attend please let Christine know (christine@horomaka.org) and she can let the organisers know how many are coming.
Coming up in September
Staying with the local body election theme, and dealing with another pressing issue – transport planner and ECAN candidate Axel Wilke will present on “Transport futures and the climate crisis”.
