Wairarapa Stream- Jellie Park

14 January at 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Wairarapa Stream is one of many urban streams throughout Christchurch that has suffered degradation as a result of urbanisation. CVNZ Christchurch is working alongside the City Council, local schools, businesses and residents to improve the mauri (health) of this waterway. When it is healthy, Wairarapa Stream will be home to tuna (longfin eel), invertebrates and a host of other critters. In 2019 we planted over 2000 plants along the banks of the Stream that with your help we’ll continue to look after.

Time: 9:30am-12:30pm

Location: Meet on the Greer’s Rd side of the park, either near the skate bowl or closer to the bridge. Look out for the van or the CVNZ flag.

Bring: Your own gardening gloves, sturdy boots or shoes, a water bottle and sunhat. CVNZ encourages volunteers to wear long sleeves and trousers as protection from the sun and vegetation.

We’ll supply tools, but you are welcome to bring your own.

We’d love to see you there, so please register here. Contact Donna ( 021 457 568 for more information.

COVID-19: We will be following the advice from government and local council on all Covid-19 restrictions.
