Working & Being weekend at Gricklegrass Farm

14/04/2018 at 10:00 am - 15/04/2018 at 3:00 pm

You’re invited to a weekend out of the city, to the fields and orchard and creek, to the view of the mountains and the bright stars at night. To work together on the land during the day and to eat, make music, tell stories, light fires and perhaps dance into night.

Gricklegrass Community farm is hosting a working bee and social weekend as we look to move the farm out of a fallow period and towards its abundant potential.

We’re thinking of something like this:

*Saturday Day:*
10 – 11am Arrive, morning tea
11am Tour of Grick & looking at tasks
1130 – 1pm Working bee
1-2pm Lunch (provided)
2-5pm Working bee

*Saturday Evening:* Potluck/co-created dinner, hanging out… lighting the sauna and fire bath. Bonfire? Music? Dancing?

You’re welcome to stay Saturday night – we’ll be able to find space inside (let us know if you’d like this, it’ll help plan), or there’s plenty of places for tents.

Have a leisurely morning, continue working on the land if people have energy, perhaps some space for skill sharing, lunch, clearing up.

We’re still working out what priorities will be for the weekend, but some current ideas are:
– Removing broom to make way for future market garden
– Tidying and mulching in orchard
– Clearing around ‘the shack’ to allow for its completion…after 30 years!
– Repairing potting shed
– Something that catches your enthusiasm

Really, it’s an excuse to get friends old and new out to visit (yes, you can bring yours) and experience the place. We’d like to see you 🙂
